Why Choose Our RDS Deployment Services

Enterprise-grade managed database solutions

🏗️

Multi-AZ High Availability

Deploy RDS instances with Multi-AZ configuration for automatic failover to standby replica in different availability zone. Synchronous replication ensures zero data loss during failover. We configure automated backups, maintenance windows, and monitoring to maintain 99.95% uptime SLA.

📊

Read Replica Configuration

Scale read-heavy workloads with up to 15 read replicas per source database. Asynchronous replication provides eventual consistency for analytics, reporting, and read-heavy applications. We configure cross-region replicas for disaster recovery and low-latency reads in multiple geographies.

💾

Automated Backups & PITR

Enable automated daily backups with up to 35-day retention and point-in-time recovery to any second within the retention period. We configure manual snapshots for long-term archival, cross-region snapshot copying for disaster recovery, and automated backup testing.

🔍

Performance Insights

Monitor database performance with Performance Insights dashboard showing top SQL queries, wait events, and database load. We analyze slow query logs, identify bottlenecks, optimize indexes, and tune database parameters for maximum throughput and minimum latency.

🔄

RDS Proxy Connection Pooling

Improve application scalability with RDS Proxy managing database connection pools. Reduce connection overhead, enable graceful failover with connection preservation, and integrate with IAM for passwordless authentication. Ideal for serverless and containerized applications with variable connection patterns.

🚀

Database Migration (DMS)

Migrate databases from on-premises, EC2, or other cloud providers with minimal downtime using AWS Database Migration Service. We handle homogeneous migrations (Oracle to RDS Oracle) and heterogeneous migrations (SQL Server to Aurora PostgreSQL) with Schema Conversion Tool for automatic schema translation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about RDS deployment

What is the difference between RDS and Aurora?

RDS is AWS managed relational database supporting MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Oracle, and SQL Server with automated backups, patching, and Multi-AZ deployments. Aurora is AWS proprietary database compatible with MySQL and PostgreSQL that offers 5x MySQL performance and 3x PostgreSQL performance. Aurora provides storage auto-scaling up to 128TB, up to 15 read replicas with sub-10ms replication lag, Global Database for cross-region replication, and Serverless mode for variable workloads. RDS is better for lift-and-shift migrations with existing database engines, while Aurora is ideal for cloud-native applications requiring extreme performance and scalability. We help you choose based on performance requirements, compatibility needs, and budget constraints.

What is the difference between Multi-AZ and Read Replicas?

Multi-AZ provides high availability through synchronous replication to standby instance in different availability zone. Automatic failover occurs within 60-120 seconds during AZ failure, instance failure, or maintenance. Standby replica is not accessible for reads. Read Replicas use asynchronous replication for horizontal scaling of read-heavy workloads. You can create up to 15 read replicas per source database, promote replicas to standalone databases, and create cross-region replicas. Replicas introduce replication lag (typically sub-second to seconds). Use Multi-AZ for high availability and automatic failover, Read Replicas for read scaling and disaster recovery. You can combine both for HA plus read scaling.

How can I optimize RDS costs?

Right-size instances based on actual CPU, memory, and storage usage metrics from CloudWatch. Use Reserved Instances for 1-year or 3-year commitments to save up to 69% versus on-demand. Enable storage auto-scaling to avoid over-provisioning. Use General Purpose SSD (gp3) instead of Provisioned IOPS unless you need guaranteed IOPS. Delete old manual snapshots and automated backups beyond retention period. Stop non-production instances during off-hours. Use Aurora Serverless for variable workloads to pay only for actual usage. Implement read replicas only when needed. Monitor Performance Insights to optimize queries and reduce compute requirements. We provide cost analysis and optimization recommendations.

How do I migrate my database to RDS?

For homogeneous migrations (same database engine), use native tools like mysqldump for MySQL or pg_dump for PostgreSQL, or AWS Database Migration Service for minimal downtime migrations. DMS replicates ongoing changes while initial data loads. For heterogeneous migrations (different engines), use AWS Schema Conversion Tool to convert schema and code, then DMS for data migration. DMS supports continuous replication with Change Data Capture for near-zero downtime cutover. We handle migration planning, schema conversion, testing, performance validation, and cutover coordination. For large databases, we use AWS Snowball for initial data transfer. We also implement rollback strategies and validate data integrity post-migration.
